A few years back businesses were throwing 20-30k a month on search engine optimization; at least the bigger businesses were. The small business was hard pressed to find search engine optimization for much less that actually worked.

I, robot: How do search engine spiders and robots work?
Some internet surfers still hold on to the mistaken belief that actual people visit each and every website and then input it for inclusion in the search engine's database. Imagine, if these were true! With billions of websites available on the internet and with a majority of these sites offering fresh content it will take thousands of people to achieve the tasks made by search engine spiders and robots – and even then they won't be as efficient or as thorough.

Linking Strategy In The Post-Jagger Period
I never thought I would live to see the day that I would get an email like this, but the latest Google update has caused some people to panic. This particular person thought that his site would be penalized if he had a link coming from a site in an unrelated field. Well, following the Jagger update how should we approach linking? Should we "nuke" our reciprocal links directories altogether? Or is there a sensible way to continue linking?
